CMOS LDO Regulators for Portable Devices

ROHM CMOS LDO (low drop-out) regulators are tailored for use in portable devices such as PDAs, mobile phones, digital cameras and camcorders. Lower in cost and small in packaging, ROHM CMOS LDOs offer designers a superior alternative to PWM regulators in many point-of-load regulation applications. Depending on the particular model series, these fixed-output devices offer a selection of output voltages ranging from 1.2 V to 3.4 V. All ROHM CMOS LDOs feature power-saving shutdown capability and all are compatible with space-saving ceramic capacitors. A selection of single-output and triple-output devices is available offering designers the features and the performance desired for the specific tasks, such as:

• high ripple rejection for analog signal and RF circuits
• high-speed load regulation for logic circuits.

ROHM CMOS LDOs are available in very small surface mount packages as well as ultra-small chip-scale units that offer power dissipation performance matching that of much larger devices.    

 


Stepper Motor Drivers for Optimal Performance

ROHM high-reliability Stepper Motor Drivers offer exceptional performance features for printers and copiers, scanners, security cameras, robotics, sewing machines, factory automation and other precision motor control applications.

Full-step to sixteenth-step Stepper Drivers operate from a single 36V supply; ultra-thin, compact package features adjacent-pin short protection and bottom side heat sink; unique Ghost Supply Prevention feature eliminates motor malfunctions; voltage, current and thermal protection built in.

 


LED Drivers for Illumination –
Highly Efficient and Accurate


ROHM has developed isolated LED driver modules (BP584x) that utilize constant current circuits optimized for LED driving. High efficiency and accuracy are possible through an internal current detector circuit that minimizes loss. In addition, all of the required power supply elements, including control circuitry, switching block, transformer, and constant current circuit, are integrated into a single compact package, reducing the number of parts required while contributing to end-product minimization. Products with PWM dimming functionality are also available.

 


Video Switchers Feature Low Power Consumption and Fast Switching Speeds

ROHM offers a broad lineup of switcher ICs (BA76xx Series) compatible with video and audio signals. Features include multiple input capability (i.e. clamp, pedestal clamp, sync-tip clamp, 2-5 channels), low power consumption, excellent frequency characteristics, fast switching speeds, and high impedance. Broadband-compatible models are also available.
